Plans, leads, organizes and controls resources to perform maintenance on a fleet of over 100 vehicles including 60 full-sized buses and fully electric buses. Works under the general supervision and guidance of the Director, and Associate Director, of Transportation Services. Leads, equips, and trains personnel to maximize fleet readiness, efficiency, and safety. Promotes continuous improvement in all areas of maintenance operations. Manages vehicles throughout their life-cycle and provides technical expertise to configure and procure buses and other vehicles as required. Implements and administers programs necessary to provide required service levels. Complies with all established maintenance guidelines and standards and any local, state, and federal codes regarding maintenance work, vehicle safety, or facility safety. Coordinates and monitors work of contractors. Provides technical oversight for all work, maintains computerized records, and conducts data analysis for factual approach to decision making.
Graduation from an accredited college or university in an appropriate curriculum and considerable experience related to this class of work; or any equivalent combination of training and experience. Class B Commercial Drivers License with passenger and air brake endorsement.
