Brief Description of the Job: Under the direct supervision of the Public Works Director, the General Manager of Parking Services plans, directs, coordinates and reviews the activities of the City's Parking Services Division. Provide management and leadership oversight for the following Parking functions: Parking Administration, Call Center Operations, Parking Enforcement, Field Maintenance, Customer Relations, and Special Events. Develop division policies, procedures, goals and objectives; provide professional and technical staff assistance to the Assistant Public Works Director and Public Works Director; and participate in long-range planning of activities and programs related to public parking. Oversees the development and implementation of marketing plans. Ensure efficient and effective parking operations through sufficient staffing of regular operations and special events, responsible supervision, sound timely decision-making, quality control, and provision of exceptional customer service. Review and recommend revisions to the City ordinances related to parking. Meet with various City departments to address the parking needs in the downtown area, research new technology that would apply to the needs of customers, reviews parking facilities to address maintenance related matters. Prepare annual budgets for all parking facilities including revenue projections. Meet with various business owners routinely to determine parking requirements for the businesses. Manage parking capital improvement projects (CIP).
Job Requirements Formal Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business Management or Public Administration is required.
Experience: Over four years of experience in parking management, which provide the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position.
Driver's License Required: Class D South Carolina license.
Certifications and Other Requirements: IPI - Certified Administrator of Public Parking (CAPP)
