The Town of Estes Park currently has an exciting startup opportunity to implement a new Downtown Parking Management Plan (available for viewing at www.estes.org) while taking the Town’s seasonal free shuttle program (additional information at www.estes.org) to the next level of excellence. This new full-time position in the Public Works Department will develop and lead a new Division which includes supervising seasonal staff, short and long-range planning, budgeting, program development, promotion, grant writing, and implementation of new technology to communicate parking and shuttle availability to the visiting public. Manages the daily operation of the seasonal Estes Park parking and free shuttle programs. Plans and coordinates all parking and transit services and supervises staff assigned to the Public Works Parking and Transit Services Division. Performs short and long-range planning, program development, promotion, grant writing, and leads selection and implementation of new technology, software, and hardware to communicate parking and shuttle availability to the visiting public. Serves as staff liaison to the Town’s citizen Transportation Advisory Board who reviews and provides recommendations for ongoing parking and transit services. Work is independent with considerable authority to use judgment and initiative in carrying out work programs and objectives as outlined in the Town’s Downtown Parking Management Plan. Bachelor’s Degree in transportation, urban planning, economic or community development, business or public administration, or a related field.
5-7 years of experience managing a parking/transit program/division/authority/company that includes implementation of master planned improvements. A combination of public (municipal) and private sector experience is preferred.
Experience with grant writing and administration preferred.
4 years of supervisory experience in a municipal setting preferred.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Must be credentialed as a Certified Administrator of Public Parking (CAPP) and Certified Community Transit Manager (CCTM) within 1-year of hire.
Valid Colorado Driver’s License and satisfactory driving record or ability to obtain within 6-months of hire
